Extraordinary matcha with the name of ‘long life’ for making thick tea (koicha)
STEP 1) Put 4g (0.8 US tsp, 2 teaspoon or 4 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 30 ml (1 fl oz) 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Gently knead with a chasen (tea whisk) until all lumps are gone.
❖ Before Step 1, warm up the tea bowl with hot water, then dry it with a cloth to create the perfect temperature so make the most delicious matcha with a fresh scent while preparing. (Optional)
❖ To prevent clotting of the matcha powder, sift it through a fine strainer before use. (Strongly recommended)
❖ After the matcha is done, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it gets more and more bitter. (Recommended)
❖ Freshness is the most important thing for the enjoyment of Matcha. It is best to use up the tea within one month of opening. (Strongly recommended)

Eiju ceremonial matcha is genuinely one of the best ceremonial matcha that I have tasted so far. There are definitely subtle notes of roasted peanuts as well as an unmistakable sweetness that is reminiscent of sweet snap peas or sweet corn. There is virtually no bitterness at all and has a buttery smooth texture. This is a jewel of a matcha.

Very smooth Matcha, with no bitterness at all. Once you open the can, the first shock is the amazing vibrant colour, it is radiating. I like to make it with hot water, the foam is abundant and easy to make. I would say this is a subtle matcha for more advanced users, quality stuff and beautiful looking tin.

Equally good for koicha and usucha, tasty and relaxing in both cases. The koicha holds perfectly and the usucha is still bold.

A very good thin matcha! Very strong floral smell once the can is open. It has a a nice sweet taste with no hint of bitterness at all. Foam forms easily after whisking.

My favorite matcha so far - it's so pleasant with tons of umami, I like it even better than the spectacular Choan.

An exquisite matcha from the scent in the can, the aroma while whisking to the taste. I made this matcha as usucha, koicha, and something in between (less traditional). The scent in the can is so sweet. While whisking, the aroma is complex and delightful. I really enjoyed the taste; its multilayered with so much umami and a long lingering aftertaste. It has absolutely no bitterness. The consistency is thick and creamy when whisked properly. Even as usucha it still had a full-bodied consistency. I really love this matcha!

I like this creamy, sweet and mellow matca very much. Depending on my mood I enjoy this tea as a perfect koicha or as a delicious usucha. A gourmet matcha, absolutely recommended.
